Pysanky (from the Ukrainian word pysaty, meaning “to write”) is an ancient wax-resist art form where intricate symbols, lines, and patterns are “written” onto eggs using a kistka (also called a pysachok) and melted beeswax. These designs are then layered with vibrant dyes to create stunning, symbolic works of art that have been used for centuries as blessings of protection, fertility, renewal, and spiritual intention.
